2011Basle Tourism awards the Golden Pin of Honour to Roger Brennwalder for outstanding achievements.
2010The 40th jubilee: "It was an exciting journey through time, spanning four generations of tennis," President Roger Brennwald wrote in an editorial. ATP Tour in Ponte Vedra (USA) confirms cut-off point for the main tournament at ATP rank 49. Basel boasts the strongest field in its history. Five tournament days plus ‘Super Monday’ with tenor Paul Potts all sold out. More than 70,000 spectators eagerly await the tennis spectacle in St. Jakob.
2009Expo + Event Swiss Association bestows the Award "Xaver of the Year" on Roger Brennwald. This honorary prize is awarded to a public figure for outstanding achievements that have sustainable repercussions throughout Switzerland.
2009Promotion of the tournament to the newly-created 500 Series of the ATP World Tour.

This confirms the status of the Davidoff Swiss Indoors as Switzerland's leading sporting event with an annual budget of CHF 16 million, and the world's third largest indoor tournament after Paris and Shanghai.
2008The "Sport Champion" award, the highest accolade of its kind in the canton of Basel-Landschaft, goes to Roger Brennwald and his team.
2008Roger Federer becomes the first player in the tournament's history to win the Basel title on three successive occasions.
2006Former ballboy Roger Federer wins home tournament in Basel and, in addition, is chosen as world sportsman of the year.
2006Roger Brennwald is chosen as Vice-Chairman of Swiss Top Sport.
2005Davidoff Swiss Indoors receives the "ATP Award of the Year" for excellent organisation and services.
2005The international year of sport sees the foundation of the Davidoff Swiss Indoors Business Club, the leading networking organisation in Swiss sports.
2004At the "Sportsman and Sportswoman of the Year" ceremony, Roger Brennwald is presented with the "Basel Sports Champion" promotional award.
2003Hall of fame. Davidoff Swiss Indoors receives a place of honour at the Swiss Sports Museum.
2003Davidoff Swiss Indoors receives the "ATP of the Year" award for best marketing.
2003Roger Brennwald gets the Promotion and Economic Development Prize 2003 from the municipality of Allschwil.
2001Roger Brennwald receives further acclamation as "Basler of the Year" and is given the Swiss dialect title of "Ehrenspalebärglemer".
2000SWISS TOP SPORT, an institution encompassing the 14 biggest Swiss sporting events, is co-founded by Roger Brennwald.
1999Roger Brennwald is named "Basler of the Year" and awarded the "Basler Star". He is also honoured by being listed among Basel's top ten sports personalities of the century.
1997At the World Championships in Hanover, Davidoff Swiss Indoors receives the "Award of the year" for outstanding facility services (installations, infrastructure and services for spectators and sponsors).
1996Another World No. 1 - Pete Sampras - wins Davidoff Swiss Indoors title.
1995Davidoff Swiss Indoors celebrates its silver jubilee with a world first: winners and superstars from the tournament's 25-year history meet up at three events which draw a total of 70,100 spectators and are broadcast in 41 countries.
1993Michael Stich wins the tournament and Swiss Indoors adds another great name to a list that already includes Kodes (75), Borg (77), Vilas (78), Lendl (80+81), Noah (82+87), Gerulaitis (83), Edberg (85+86+88), Courier (89), McEnroe (90) and Becker (92).
1990From now on, the stadium only houses the Center Court. Court 2 is relocated to a secondary hall. Capacity raised to 9,000.
1989Swiss Indoors becomes the only tournament in a German-speaking country to be included in ATP's world TV pool (covering 16 tournaments worldwide).
1988New facilities set up in the foyer of the public area: screens in corridors, carpeting, uniform stand design, free 224-page Year Book, expansion of catering facilities, etc.)
1986Establishment of a "tennis village" at which companies and other sponsors rent "lounges" and organise customer events.
1983The institution of the corporate box is established: firms are allocated private loge boxes at a Swiss sporting event for the first time.
1980An unforgettable final: Ivan Lendl beats the "invincible" Borg.
1978Creation of sponsorship scheme (which still operates today) giving 6,000 young people free admission to the tournament each year.
1977Björn Borg's first match at the Swiss Indoors. This helps to enhance the popularity of tennis in Switzerland.
1975Unofficial inauguration of St. Jakobshalle Basel: various sideshow events (football, handball, gymnastics) held in connection with Swiss Indoors.
1970Swiss Indoors founded and staged in its own air hall. Winner's prize: a wristwatch.
1994Swiss Indoors agrees a title sponsorship deal with "Davidoff". This opens up new horizons for raising Basel's profile in world tennis.
