ATP tour 500 – EUR 2.523 million – 18 to 26 October 2025
The five previously announced top-ranked tennis players, Ben Shelton (USA, ATP 7), Holger Rune (Denmark, ATP 9), Jakub Mensik (Czechia, ATP 17), Arthur Fils (France, ATP 20) and Joao Fonseca (Brazil, ATP 52) will face renowned competition from Taylor Fritz (USA, ATP 4), Casper Ruud (Norway, ATP 12) and Denis Shapovalov (Canada, ATP 30), who will also compete at this year’s Swiss Indoors tournament at St. Jakobshalle Basel from 18 to 26 October.
Taylor Fritz narrowly missed his first Grand Slam win at last year’s US Open, where he was defeated by Jannik Sinner in the final. The new world number 4 also made waves at Wimbledon a few weeks ago. Only Carlos Alcaraz was able to stop the American in the semi-finals after four hard-fought sets. Casper Ruud, three-time Grand Slam finalist and winner of the Madrid Open (ATP 1000), is another favourite on all courts around the world. This year, an injury caused him to drop to 11th place in the ATP rankings. His highest ranking (ATP 2) was in 2023. Thanks to his explosive playing style and his temperament, Denis Shapovalov is one of the crowd favourites on the tour. With his tournament victory 10 days ago in Los Cabos (ATP 250), he confirmed his increasingly good form.
A glittering line-up is emerging
Further entries will follow until the line-up is completed. The result will be an incredibly high-calibre field with the perfect mix of established icons and the rising stars of the next generation, who are already some of the world’s top players. ‘The high calibre of men’s tennis is what will shape the future of this fascinating sport and of Swiss Indoors Basel,’ says tournament president Roger Brennwald.
Entry list deadline and wildcards
The list of participants at this year’s Swiss Indoors Basel for the main tournament (32 players in singles, 16 pairs in doubles) and for qualification (16 players in singles) will be completed by the entry list deadline of 22 September 2025. Wildcards will be awarded after the US Open at the earliest.
