Novak Djokovic will play his first-round match at Swiss Indoors Basel 2026 on Wednesday. The 39-year-old Serb entered on a wild card and is seeded fourth. His first opponent will be the Frenchman Ugo Humbert.

Title number 103 and a ticket to Turin

In early October, Djokovic won his seventh China Open title in Beijing for his 102nd tournament win. If he won the title in Basel, he would catch up with Roger Federer, who has 103 titles to his name. He also wants to qualify for the ATP Finals in Turin: Djokovic is currently ranked 11th and needs to finish the season amongst the top nine to play in this Italian contest.

Outlook

The exact timing of the match against Humbert will be announced with the match schedule for Wednesday. The main draw will start on Monday with Super Monday and the match between Dominic Stricker and Casper Ruud.
