Day three of the tournament once again treated spectators to world-class tennis and the exceptional Center Court atmosphere.
NextGen stars made their first splash of the day in the early afternoon when 19-year-old Holger Rune from Denmark (ATP 25) defeated the finalist from the last Swiss Indoors, Alex de Minaur (ATP 24).
The 22-year-old Felix Auger-Aliassime (ATP 9) also confirmed his strong form and continued his winning streak. After winning his last two tournaments, the Firenze Open and the European Open in Antwerp, the Canadian beat the 24-year-old Swiss Marc-Andrea Hüsler (ATP 62).
Later, the round of sixteen kicked off with a match between rising star Carlos Alcaraz (ATP 1) and the Dutchman Botic van de Zandschulp (ATP 35). The 19-year-old Spaniard showed his class once again, winning in straight sets.
Thursday has further exciting match-ups in store for spectators, including two Grand Slam winners in Andy Murray (ATP 49) and Stan Wawrinka (protected ranking).
